“Monster House” is unpretentious, smartly written (by Dan Harmon, Rob Schrab and Pamela Pettler) and a lot of fun. Monster House is a 2006 American computer animated fantasy film, released on July 21, 2006 produced by ImageMovers and Amblin Entertainment, and distributed by Columbia Pictures. Executive produced by Robert Zemeckis and Steven Spielberg, this is the first time since Back to the Future Part III. After reading the book I watched 6 different Dracula movies to find out which one is the most faithful, and if being more faithful makes for a better adaptation. They, much like other people, do not appear to believe the boys at all, but are simply doing their job to make sure they don't get hurt. While they agree with people that DJ might be crazy, they nevertheless love him and try to do what's best for him. Mr. Nebbercracker hates kids and confiscates everything that lands on his lawn, telling people to stay off it and from his house due to his knowledge that the house is sapient.

Whilst managing to calm the house down, Nebbercracker laments over the fact that he has failed to keep his wife's wrath from hurting others and turning her into what she is now a true monster. This saddens the house and provides Nebbercracker an opportunity to end his wife's suffering using a stick of dynamite. The house, however, does not take this well and grabs Nebbercracker to eat him for this apparent betrayal before DJ, Chowder, and Jenny arrive just in time with an excavator, which proves effective against the house. As the house fights with Chowder, who is controlling the vehicle, DJ is given the dynamite and is told to destroy the house for good. DJ convinces his friends to keep up with their search for the house's furnace.
Storyline
She has black roof shingles which can move with the chimney placed on the right side that leads to her heart, although the exact location of the fire is yet unknown, although it is said to be in the furnace basement. Her eyes are windows of different shapes, the left one being square and the right is semi oval. The porch and door comprise her mouth with small wooden planks that emerge and act as her teeth to give her a powerful bite. Constance has two trees that act as her arms and she is able to control the lawn and walkway that leads toward her. Inside, Constance has a room that functions similar to a human's inner mouth. She has a red elongated carpet for a tongue, a chandelier resembling a uvula, and a green throat which is an opened pit with sharp wooden blades circling around.
The postures and gestures of DJ (Mitchell Musso) and his pals — a pudgy fellow named Chowder (Sam Lerner) and a preppy redhead named Jenny (Spencer Locke) — have an authentically loose and antic look. They seem like real kids, rather than like super-cute, big-headed cartoon moppets. Like Robert Zemeckis's "Polar Express," "Monster House" (for which Mr. Zemeckis served as an executive producer) uses the digitally captured movements of real actors rather than computer-generated algorithms as the basis for its animated images. The people in the movie look a little like molded-plastic figurines (the ones in "Polar Express" looked more like porcelain dolls), but their gestures are uncannily fluid and unpredictable, making you appreciate the quality of the acting more than you generally do in animated films. Just then, Constance, who already set her sights on Jenny, possesses the porch causing the concrete slabs below her to rise and led her to the houses mouth, only to be failed by Zee and the boys' interference. DJ and Chowder then return to DJ’s room with Jenny to continue the investigation. They later witness a dog who approaches the lawn, only to be eaten by the house. Witnessing this, they realise that the house only moved when the unsuspecting victim approached, and Jenny decided to call the police As they were waiting, the trio imagines what would happen if many children came to that house due to tonight being Halloween. Just then, the house moves again and taunts Chowder by playing his basketball that is marked with Jack-O-Lantern's face, which Chowder perceives that the house would start the real killing spree tonight. Just then, Officer Landers and Officer Lister arrive, but they didn’t believe him at all and instead scold them for “vandalism” toward the house (due to any attempt to taunt the house was vain and Jenny discovers that the possessed house was very intelligent to do so).

To make matters worse, Nebbercracker's departure causes Constance's spirit within the house to awaken, and with Nebbercracker gone, there is no one to keep her calm. Constance hates chowder as much she hates DJ and Jenny, in fact the two of them mock each other back and forth throughout the movie. Constance hates DJ mainly because he is trying to stop her plan from eating all children on Halloween night and when he tells her husband to let her go. Constance was a tall obese woman with short black hair, pale pink cheeks, and grey eyes. Her legs are short with seemingly fat arms, giving her poor ability to reach, run or climb.
To ensure their safety, Nebbercracker put "Beware" and "Keep Away" signs on his lawn, and acted mean towards children who came near his house and confiscated their possessions so they wouldn’t dare come near the house again. After taking possession of the house, Constance's physical appearance is shaped like a head; the hair is made of black trapezoid roof tiles with the chimney placed on the right side where the heart is, although the location of the furnace is yet unknown. Her eyes are windows of different shapes, her left eye is square and her right eye is arch. The lower part of her face has the same wider roof and a platform where the door should be. When awakened or disturbed, her mouth shows small wooden plank-like teeth framed by the door.
While they are married and have a history together, their relationship goes through profound challenges. The house remains still until morning, though DJ and Chowder continue to watch it from DJ’s room for hours even with Zee’s interference and resort to peeing in bottles, so they won’t miss any of the possessed house’s activities. As the credits roll, the victims who were eaten by the house emerges from the hole. Bones finds out that Zee is now dating Skull, then Officer Landers and Officer Lister leave to "investigate" some of the trick-or-treating candy & the dog urinates on a nearby jack-o'-lantern enough to put out its flame. What became of Horace Nebbercracker after the incident is unknown, but Chowder tells DJ that he assumes Horace might go on vacation, get some color and maybe meet someone new, perhaps a "nice beach house". Near the end of the film, he wore a hospital gown and a white bandage around his arm, probably due to lifting DJ and losing his strength because of his old age after he tried to get Chowder’s basketball.
